- I've had to clean out my A4000 keyboard twice in the 3 years I've had it.
- (Mainly because I smoke at the keyboard.) The right stuff to clean the
- contacts with is isopropyl alcohol, which should be easily obtainable in
- small quantities from a pharmacist. I got mine from a school chemistry lab
- - where I'm well known. And use a lint-free cloth (no fluff). The surface
- of the board should be "clinically clean" so far as possible. Keep fingers
- off it. The little rubber pads under the keys can be replaced, as Hans hs
- done. On my 500 I once swapped the keypad + key with a dead one. Gentle
- dabbing with the alcohol sometimes restores them.

- Not really. I phoned around some repair places who advertise, and found a
- man who would sell them to me for 5 pounds UK each! He said they were "like
- gold dust" to obtain. I asked about 2nd-hand, damaged, keyboards as a
- source: and he said that's how gets his! But this was 2 years ago, and I
- don't have the address/phone-no now. Do you ever get "computer fairs" in
- your area? I don't know what country you're in, but they are fairly common
- in the UK. There's all kind of computer parts and electronic junk for sale.
- Last time I went to one was 6 months ago, and I don't remember seeing any
- keyboards there.
